Desiree began her career journey by pursuing an Associate Degree in Business Administration, at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College. She then left her home town Tortola, British Virgin Islands, to further her career abroad in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Before leaving her hometown, she knew she had a passion for design, so while abroad, she developed her creative skills and talents, and enrolled in the Interior Design program at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Let’s go back a few years… Desiree discovered her childhood passion for design through her dad’s family business. With great skills, talents, and experience she learned everything; from bidding contracts, working with clients, drafting blueprints, visiting construction sites, renovations to the fabricating stage, and lastly installation. With long days and nights, trod through weekends, and even holidays, geared her to develop the knowledge she now embraces.
Graduated with an Associate Degree in 2013, and off she went to explore the design world at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries & Décor. After one year with the company her ambitious personality got her an offer to fill the Interior Designer position at the Sunrise, Florida location. At this point of her life, she decided to return to school to further with a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design.
With time and hard work, she now have over nine years in customer service, seven years in custom cabinetry, furniture design, project management, and five years in Interior Design. Desiree continues on the industry path to enhance her hands on skills and learning. As she journeys through her career footpath, she decided to start building on her dads legacy in both her hometown Tortola, and current location Florida.
Desiree has developed, and market Jones Interiors & More to its uttermost potential.
